Bound

Never a mistake...just unplanned
With love for her, he asked her hand.
On one knee, In one quick breath,
She said, "I do", and hugged his neck.

Life was cruel, unfair and unkind.
It took advantage of a fool who had in his mind
A wife and a life. A kid, maybe two.
A job and a house that was filled with "love yous".

How wrong was time. How cruel was death,
When "til death do us part" meant her final breath.

He followed her there, to a land unknown-
Where life after death can never be shown.
But in their next life they were bound again.
Never apart, but what if...and then...

And then a daughter was born, but the wife was torn
Between her once loving husband, now seeming so worn;
But so warm was he! when she had his embrace.
Oh the love he'd shown for her on his face.

Now only darkness, in features was set.
The look of a man full of regret.
