Boundaries

B O U N D A R I E S
Ten Letters, One Word
Divided by our notions of us and them
Perfectly Symmetrical
Put in a box
Suffocated by our definitions and divisions and dividends and differences
We say that we didn’t start the fire
But the fire keeps on burning
Engulfing
Immolating
Dismissing and Disposing the corpses of soulless beings that You and I
That You and I created
We kill not with weapons but with ignorance and selfishness
Turning away from cries of help to Sirens’ shrieks of Capitalism

Religion, Caste, Creed, Gender, Color
Crusades, Slavery, The Middle Passage, Colonialism, WWI, Hitler, WWII, Hiroshima-Nagasaki, Cold War, Klan, Apartheid, Jihad, Israel-Palestine, Kashmir, so much Hatred, So much Bloodshed, for What!?
Gandhi, Mandela, Sarojini Naidu, Lincoln, Frederick Douglass, Malcolm X, King, Rosa Parks, Ella Baker, Millicent Fawcett, Guevara, Marx, You and I

We fought for Freedom
We fought for Equality
We fought for Liberty
We thought we had won
We had never been more wrong

Trump, Putin, Kim Jong-Un, Brexit, Modi, White Supremacy, Hindutva, Xenophobia, Islamophobia, Neo-Nazis, Rise of the Ku Klux Klan AGAIN?
Me Too, Pride, Black Lives Matter, Not In My Name

‘Preach’ Humanism not Nationalism
Peace not Religion
Love not Hate
