Brass

echoed bravado ringing the timbers asunder

echoed hill music made with iron and wood

echo last moments, makes me wonder
what singer slings the brass, and what audience stays captive
what big band man took a trumpet and blew, what is now inactive

was it a little A caught between a blustered blare of fan fare?
was it a deep E so low in the crowd no one saw, or cared?

who knows what those gunshots say, or what they show
I'd rather be ignorant, and not know
