Breaking Barriers

I hate school but I love education
I can achieve anything I want
With hard work and dedication
I can rise-rise to the occasion
But not objectify myself
To the norms and restrictions
When society says to me
"Don't become a statistic"
But why? Why can't I be the first to pave the way
for those who cannot afford to pave their own?
Why applaud me for my negative in repetition
Instead of engaging in my success without insisting
I'm one in a million
I am a child of me, for I decide where I go
In this moment I am alive
A prefix used to do again which has already been done
Why am I re-living the the one life I have?
Because society has designed me to be for them
But I am for me. I define me.
Education is whatever I want my mind to be
I finally am free
