Breathe & Smoke

The imperil flame of the candle
Gravity defiant
Soaring high on its last unforgiving flight
Before eminent demise

With a filling of lungs
A gathering of arms by the tongue
And a forceful breath...
The formidable army unites

Raised oxygen swords and shields
Behead the dancing light
The twists and turns of dark smoke sing its battle cry
While wax drips thick in solemn tears

Alas victorious,
All that remains of the foe is an imperfect wick
Burnt down and broken
While the prized smell of nostalgia pervades the air

Through perished light and consequential darkness, we are triumphant
