Breathe

Have you ever waited for the world to just stop?
For the cars to stop moving,
For the sirens to stop wailing,
For the people to stop moving
And for the world to just breathe?

The world whizzes on by,
Full of color and bright lights,
Full of adventure and excitement,
Full of mystery and wonder,
But do we ever just stop to breathe?

Are our lives just too busy,
Are our schedules too full,
Are our jobs too demanding,
Are our bosses too cruel,
Can't we just stop to breathe?

Yet life catches up,
And soon we will see
How important it is,
To just stop and breathe.

This Poems Story

I am seventeen years old and currently in my last year of secondary school in Scotland. I have always loved the way you can escape into another world through writing and it has become a way of expressing how I really feel. "Breathe" was my way of expressing how we all rush through life and often forget to stop for a moment and take in the true beauty of the world around us. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank my friends and family for always supporting me and my dreams.
