Bridges

I wish Love was a bridge
that once you crossed-
you could never turn back

Or a path that two people could walk-
and no one else would ever pass-
no pretty girls or sophisticated women
that would dare to take your lover away

But Love, Love you are an apartment
at a university- one hundred miles away from me

Love, you are surrounded-
by pretty girls and sophisticated women

Love- If you ever let another girl in-
ask her to use the doorbell,
and not touch the places my hand has been

Love- Ignore those last thoughts-
I'll leave my trust in your mailbox-
I think you'll keep it safe.

Love- I hope you smile when you see it,
and send your thoughts my way.
