Brie Anne

The cheese had a nice
thick crust,
covered in spices,
doused in trust

It seemed to be happy
with life in the dark...
sitting alone in the cupboard,
nowhere to leave its mark.

What was on the outside
deceived the part within.
There was a big hole, gaping wide-
full of crumbles, guilty of sin.

The cheese was broken,
the culprit was dear.
Some things are irreparable,
solidified by fear.

The culprit left a clue,
but he was nowhere to be found.
The day the cheese will rue
was when she didn't hold her ground.
