What is the worth of a soul
That through hatred and pain is no longer whole?
A girl who is an adult
yet sometimes still a child,
lost in a world of dreams,
She's learned nothing is truly as it seems-
parents who don't understand why she's hurting
and people who can't or won't see
that from their bullying she'll never be free.
Though they left that in the past,
she still feels the pain,
hears the words,
feels anger and sorrow over a wound that won't heal.
They broke her spirit,
and they don't seem to care.
What could she have been if they had left her alone?
I ask my self every day-
because I am the broken soul,
and I've forgotten what it's like to be whole.
