My chamber is an empty cell cold and miserable,
the sounds of sorrow steady lingers on the walls.
A foundation unstable with cracks and erosion
a faint beat can barely be heard.
Where did all the laughter go what happened to the light
what crumbled those impenetrable walls
what dismantled that foundation that was stronger than life.
Was it the wind was it the rain
was it the earth or a scorching flame
or was it the thing that created it that brought it to its knees.
