As I gaze into the darkness of the hollow of the shell, I see an eye, holding in an ocean's worth of tears
First it is the moon, hidden in the sun’s shadow, cloaked in darkness, invisible to blind eyes
And then it is a wilted rose, drained of all will to live and filled with broken promises and bittersweet goodbyes
And then it is like a black hole, reaching into the depths of my soul
And then it becomes a mirror, reflecting my deepest fears and secrets, leaving me raw and vulnerable
And now it is a knife, stained with others’ unhappiness and pain
And now it is a tear of a girl whose soul is littered with scars hidden inside
And now I am the girl
