My life is a broken chain
The memories of the past haunt my brain.
Each and every night I pray
That one day everything will be okay.
As I lay there so confused,
I never knew I could lose;
Someone whom I held so close
Would be the one to hurt me most.
He walked out the door and left;
He should be sued for theft.
I always thought I was to blame,
But it's he who should be ashamed.
As I sat there in my room
Taking in the summer gloom.
Side by side we stood strong;
We held our walls up for so long.
Years passed by walls start caving;
I wonder if we were ever worth saving.
As we crumble to the ground,
She holds me in her arms, safe and sound.
I was lost but now I'm found.
As I struggled to believe,
She helped me to achieve.
Who knew how far you could go
When your whole world seemed to fade.
Now those walls that once caved
Form a place where love and laughter
Are my happily ever after.
