Getting started is harder than you thought,
might as well keep moving steady with a broke heart
and take only breaths that are sighs of relief
after managing a visible time of disbelief.
You tried talking to yourself and pretended it was me.
I know the look of it is crazy, it is true,
you shouldn't be alone in a land of billions,
all of that trying to walk and talk without living millions—
Did it work?
Believing you were let down easily is better
than chasing shattered possibilities down to whatever.
And you begin again to get started
with a look on your face that says you're broken hearted.
