We met we clicked he took me to a movie where he kissed me hard as though he was trying to take my breath away he said girls like me are hard to find we see each other a few times he invites me over to watch game of thrones his parents are upstairs we go downstairs to be alone we make our way into his room with a bed only covered in sheets flung across as though time foreshadowing what was to come. He smiles and kiss me slowly stripping clothes away each layer my guard is let down things get heated fast like a summer day that just won't end but I'm not the kind of girl that takes things this fast I tell him no he keeps trying as though he is unable to hear my pleas my own voice echoing in my head as I cover myself with my hands using them as shields to protect the most vulnerable places as though they will stop him from stealing something that only has meaning when given away the word no plays like a lullaby or a broken record that repeats my voice distant the weight of your body feels like the weight of the world when it ends and you lay next to my side now my scars show on the outside as I stare up at a blank white plaster sky our bodies laying side by side separated as if the tension has formed a wall between to broken souls the silence shatters like thin ice he says I should have stopped when you said no.
