Broken Twice

I remember when we met

In that blue room

It was like a dream come true

Eyes blue, clothes blue, and lights blue

A day I'll never forget

Never prayed for it to be my doom

I used to think our days would be bright together

Holding each other’s hands in the eastside while we wander

Bodies present but our minds and souls ponder

You smiled at me

And I to you too

But we both knew something was wrong

And that came from you

It sure did come from you!

You had another lover

But you introduced her as your sister

Everything dawned on me while I thought

Your sister, but yet your lover?

How could I not know?

I was deafened by your candy-coated words

Now it happened twice

My heart broke twice

You were my second mistake

A risk I will never take again

For you have drained me of the love I have to give.
