Broken wings

I saw an angel sitting near a vine,
upset she looked as she had something in mind.
She looked so delicate that I feared to touch her,
so soft she was that even petals could hurt her.
Coming near I saw how engrossed she was,
I noticed her wings looked as if they will fall apart.
I asked how it happened,
she looked me right in the eye.
With unshed tears blinding her vision
she said with an ache in her voice,
"I thought I was free and born to fly high!
I felt I had no limits,
No bars around my sides.
So I flew to test my wings,
use the powers I felt in my palms.
But I think inspite of throwing roses,
stones will reach me fast.
They hit me so hard that I collapsed on the ground,
breaking my wings , they made more wounds.
Since then I am sitting here unable to fly,
regretting the thought that I had no limits, no bars around my sides."
