Broken Wings

Soul that by dreams was inspired
As fiery as fire
Drained it remained
With hopes still higher
Wounded I feel
With everyone around
Screaming inside
I no more want to be bound
Glad I am
For all is so lit
But my heart aches
As my soul says "enough, that's it."
Talk about it, they say
It makes you feel light
Forget about it, I feel
That is the only way right.

Too heavy is this
Burden of memories
I wish i could throw away
Some of it at least
And breathe with ease
No way out as if it seems
A marshland in which
I drench till deep

Will these broken wings
Let me fly
Or I shall be down
With a blow in a while
Even then I will dare to say
It's dawn and not dusk
For me, today.
