Broken Wings

A darkness as black as night
That life itself couldn't pierce
Crawls behind her earth brown eyes
Her painful past prickels her skin
Settling itself in like never ending scars
On nights she feels worthless used and alone
The cold metal of a blade
meets with her wrist
Her eyes are set and narrow
A small smile graces her lips
The blade slips and slits her skin
She quites and calms
the pain with in.
