Brokenhearted Eyes

Eyes watered shimmering pool of stars,
Sunset wounds leaving memory scars.
Night after night pillows by the lonely sea,
Blankets in bed of sand cold in February.

Eyes mirrored sky in grey morning mist,
Shaft of light was once beloved bliss.
Forget and forget but memory resist,
Moonlit heart fast wishing sun may not exist.

Eyes folded light into darkest place,
Where shattered soul tailored death as lace.
Thread to thread heartstrings painfully break, remade
Into black kerchiefs of eulogy parade.
