Brother, Let Me Cry for You

I take your anguish to hillsides
And scream into the skies
Until your tears fill my eyes
I take your pain to the trees
And let the weeping willow do her thing
I take your broken voice and I sing
Songs of joy reaped from tears you sowed
And I'll lead you to that forest
When you're ready to sing them on your own
I'll paddle out the farthest
To where you're at your darkest
And bring you back to shore
Pushing you into waves
Until you need my help no more
For now, Brother, let me cry for you
Let me carry this burden
Let me love you while you're hurting
I have no words to say
And I have no wisdom to pray
His heavy heart, don't harden him
Lord, just let me cry for him
