Burning Love

Love is like a chili pepper,
Burning sweet, a yearning,
Full of heat and prickly longing,
A blaze no thunderstorm can drench,
A thirst no tonic brew can quench,
A piquant power,
That bites the lips and,
Singes to the core.
No frame of mind can rule it.
No salty taste can fool it.
Drink a quart of beer to cool it,
And then go back for more.
