But Not Today!

By

My body begins to tremble.
My stomach begins to twitch.
My mind begins to panic.
All is lost but the moment.
I can not.
I will not.
That's all there is to it.
Fear deafens my senses.
Nothing else remains.
Time is hinged upon this abyss.
Faith, nor persuasion, nor force can make me.
It is within me, not what is without.
Only I can squelch this fear.
But not today!
