Butterflies and Apple Pies

Step inside forever mine, my love for you is old
Even though we never know if this blight we'll ever beat
Never through the pass of time will it shudder in the cold

Stronger lives have led to lies, and better break the bold
With hearts of gold in locket droves that peter in the street
You'll step inside forever mine, my love for you is old

So step inside and see divine, our love for love was sold
When butterflies and appetites hungered for the meat
And never through the pass of time will it shudder in the cold

Through the bright we lost the night, and left as we were told
When butterflies and appetites floundered for the cheat
Please step inside forever mine my love for you is old

We surmise that our demise is just around the fold
This apple blight will never die, so we swallow all the seeds
And never though the pass of time will it shudder in the cold

But stay for slight, I'll hold you tight and know we will behold
This apple blight someday might just wither in the heat
So step inside forever mine, my love for you is old
But never through the pass of time will it shudder in the cold
