Butterfly Fly Away
Slipping right thru my fingers, I'm losing what I can't touch.
Its not exactly a bad thing, it's called time.
It's just ticking so fast, I feel it's in a rush.
I whisper all my love for you in your ear,
Tuck you in and kiss you on your nose.
I was born to be your protector, here to watch you grow,
And that's what you'll do.
Grow, get your wings, and fly away;
I just need to savor the moment, embrace each and every day.
I've learned not to take things for granted,
And youth is wasted on the young.
But no matter how much time passes,
In my arms you'll always belong.
Don't ever feel inadequate,
Or skip the lessons your precious life will set up for you to learn.
Time is a blessing, my dear, but time always burns-
So always excel, and never forget how to get back to your nest.
As much as I fear and hurt for that day,
I'll kiss you on your nose, whisper in your ear:butterfly, fly away!
