By Candlelight

Here I lay in my bed,
Snuggled up in my spread
With the window opened high,
So I can glance out to the dark sky

From my window the wind flows in,
The coolness of it tumbles over my skin
This fragrant candle on the small table,
The breeze makes the flame dance so unstable

Music, from the wind chimes down the street,
Plays the perfect melody that won't miss a beat,
While the crickets add their drums that are so sweet
Just laying here dreaming is such a distinctive treat

Bouncing shadows moving in my mirror,
Making this fantasy only clearer,
My dog revealing her lazy yawn
We'll both sleep soundly until dawn
