BY THE BEACH

BY THE BEACH

as the deep blue waters rolled,
waves en masse like tales unfold,
currents drifting, while i gazed,
like an infant,
awed,
-and cold.

i beheld it, crystal clear!
at the point i stood, transfixed,
for it raged on, oh so near,
yet so far,
in miles, like six.

then it happened, just in time,
wide and open, 'wards the skies,
to my noisy clock, the chime,
on the other side,
my eyes.
