Calling All Kin Exceptionalism
I am butter to cake
As respect is to true love
The candor of it all is simple
Nothing that is good is as good without me
I am flavor to be missed
And I cannot be mimicked
My nature tenders all hearts
And without me the texture of life is lean
My qualities are dependable
And accountable; I contribute to every rise
Because of the way that I am comprised
Where it matters most I encourage growth
When the heat is applied
Within this cold world
And I’m steaming on the inside
I use that power and strength to elevate
Bringing rise to all that is connected
I am not small minded nor do I conform
I am butter to cake
But I’m no ordinary bake
I add value to the mixing bowl
But a lack of respect
Will promptly lead me to neglect it all
I’ll happily leave you to enjoy your baguette;
Lean life
