Cabbage and Cantaloupe

I like to take cabbage and cantaloupe home with me
they're way yummy food but a little tricky.
Those two guys act like sneaky Pete's
they jump out of their bag and roll under the seat.
They like to go on adventures in my car
who knows where and who knows how far.
Some portal's right under the passenger chair
I have no idea how they find it down there.
They roll off to Portugal or sometimes to Spain
they just disappear.then I see them again.
Maybe they ride horses or go fishing for sharks
or walk through caves that are dreadfully dark
or play tennis in Cannes or bicycle through Brussels
or go to the coast looking for mussels.
You just never know where cabbage and cantaloupe go
they don't ask permission, it's not like we're foes.
They are just polite food for Heaven's sake
and they always return when I step on the brake.
