Call Against Arms

My arms are not your arms
You’ve forgotten as of late
Mine wrap around what I love
Not what I hate

Use your arms to keep mine down
Lying along the rubble
Try to hold my hand and tell me
Your arms don’t cause trouble

My vocal ammunition is no match
For the wrath of yours
Round and round fired through town
These are schools not foreign wars

Hold your left hand to my mouth
And your right over my eyes
I’ll focus my ears around the room
To hear the children’s cries

This is my call against arms
Trade yours in for hands instead
Shake that of thy neighbor
And bleed white instead of red
