Cameo Buttons and Gingham

Silk scarves draped from lighted
lamp shades, reminiscent of a time
when love went for a nickel.

Dusty boots peek
from beneath the skirt
of the bed--its blue
flowers now gray
with desert dust.

Nothing more than lusty
sex keeps you here.
Passion evades you.

Unattainable youth fades
like the pungent red
Arizona sunset.

Trickling light gives way
from underneath the thin silk,
shading waves of sin.
