Can't Quit

Fed up with the way things are
Tired of explaining things to people that don't care
to understand
I'm just a young black man
Doing the best that I can
Why does that not feel like enough
Sometimes I just want to give up
Especially when you see your fellow brothers and
sisters getting murdered in cold blood
Makes you question humanity like
Where is the love?
Cause all I feel is hate from the people that swore to
protect me
But I guess I can't expect much from a system that
see's me as less than a human being
Who was created to patrol my ancestors and discipline
them when they didn't act the way you thought they
were suppose too
While some things change
Seems like most things stay the same
Even though I feel defeated
I'm going to keep pressing onward
Because my people have put in too much work
For me too quit now
I have to see it through, our future generations are
depending on us to leave this world a better place.
