Can’t We Go Back To Right Now?

I wakeup, immediately close my eyes again
Like I'll slip back into my dreams,
Smoothe out my surroundings like
The clay it all is.

Lucidity soaks my blanket, water boards me in my sleep. Can't I wakeup to the same friends smiling ear to ear, laughing at the fact that my laziness is so crazy:
they have to wake me up each morning and drag my ass to school.

You all were always there for me, even if I didn't realize we walked away so briskly,
Hiding maybe only from our own eyes because the day was getting dark and confusing for us.

If only we continued to take shelter together in the warmth of my daylight basement bedroom. I'd hear you all laughing right now
