Cape Cod

Rest me deep in flannel sheets
That keep me warm from winter woes
Guide your hands to whisk the sand
Away from feet it has imposed
When our legs pushed into waves
On this windswept and dismal day
Now we face green sleep's embrace
It tugs us into disarray
Dreams heavy, darkness ready
To tangle us in bronze respite
From the woes that winter knows
Cannot reach through these sheets tonight.
