Captive

Captive

Never had he dreamt to look beyond the bars,
For he was afraid of his dreams being shattered.
Wishing to be set free was not a choice,
But just an illusion that would make him flattered.

The memories of flying high independently had faded,
And he was compelled to live the life that once he dreaded.
All by himself ,no one beside to share his eternal pain,
And infinite failed attempts to escape with no gain.

His sole motive of living was to experience once atleast,
The smell of raw earth and the cool windy breeze against his wing.
For alive in him was the faith, that very soon that day would come,
When he would leave behind this cage and joyfully rejoice his freedom.
