Sadness befriended me out of nowhere.
It dragged me down; still, I don't care.
It wanted my thoughts, everyone,
It accused me of having too much fun.
It wanted my memory from way back when;
It said that I was unhappy, even then.
It cuddled me late at night when I couldn't sleep.
I cuddled it back, the cost was cheap.
Sadness moved on-it abandoned me
by the time I noticed I was free.
