Carpe Lucem

Aut vivere aut tardius mori in tenebris lucem.

Darkness is where I have lived,
My freedom I have been given.
I act like I am fine,
I see the clock,
It is nearly time.
Time to march into a black sea,
And hide the mess that is me.
Because darkness is the only place I can be accepted,
I once walked into the light only to be rejected.
So the monster I am now,
Is the one you created.
But light can change that,
And shed the skin I wore in the past.
Light can make you better than you ever were,
But darkness and light is a struggle.
Darkness says come and I will forgive you,
But is it really the truth?
Light says that I always have a home on its shores,
But will the ocean prevail?
I could win or I could fail,
All it takes is one choice.
A leap of faith.

Eligo lucem.
