Cassette of Lies

Sturdy hands once concealed my frail body
Each swirl in your fingerprints licked my skin
Your lips paint kisses where no one else has been
Yet, my vision is unclear and foggy

The love I thought we shared was then deceived
You gave me a cassette that's filled with sins
The liquor cabinet began to fill with gin
It got the best of me, I'm drunk and naive

I once traced the outline of your lips with mine
Those lips now seal a bottle of whiskey
While my breathe reeks of coffee and cigarettes

I long for your soft hands that caressed my thighs
For all that's left is the bite marks, hickeys
Broken, I'll sit here listening to your damned cassette
