Casting Shadows

My shadows attached to me,
seeped deep inside and stitched to my life.
Days and nights my eyes pried open,
searching for the light.

I once thought it was them I chased,
out of fear my memories erased.
To forget a time of love,
shadowed by decaying time, death and age.

Contemplating many things and aimless wondering,
I caught a breeze of reality so fresh and full of change.
Reminiscing on memories this breeze was set for me.
Drifting with beauty like mist through the night trees.
All things end and love will die,
returned in a new way,
casting my shadows away.
