Cause and Effect
You ask why I can't speak to you,
without anger in my voice,
but after all that you have caused,
I feel I have no choice.
I cannot sit and look at you,
without fear in my eyes.
I feel no more sympathy in my heart,
for those times you'd cry.
You'd say that you were sorry,
and beg for our forgiveness,
but after realizing it was all lies,
we have nothing left but bitterness.
You have done this on your own,
so for once you can't point your finger.
If you must blame someone,
blame the one in the mirror.
