Celebration

Insignificant passage of time
That bears no relevance to life
Man celebrates with fervor

Close as man moves to end
Happier he seems to recognize
All landmarks towards his death

On the narrow alley
Of the shadow of death
Dark patches riddled with thorn
Little light to brighten the way
Many candles to celebrate hay

Farms beget all green
Devoid of single grain
Still, man celebrates grass.
