Chain Reaction

Stumbling forward, I’m hanging on
Though snared by the trap I helped to set
Caught in the madness surrounding me
I dare not slip in and be trampled

I’ve somehow cried all my tears away
I’m reminiscing, just to stay sane
Sometimes I dream of tulip gardens
Before waking up to this sorrow

Showing strength when weakness overcomes
I must not tarry on the pathway
Though I’m hindered by my own folly
I strive to reap the seeds I planted

As I proceed, each step aggravates
I’m reprimanded for impatience
Such a humbling experience
A reminder to change my actions.
