Chamomile Tea

You only knew what life was through books
Your parents have told you to constantly read
And be able to recite the plot
Because with books, there came knowledge
With knowledge, there came intelligence
But your life isn’t some fairytale about a princess
Awaiting on her Prince Charming
Life has become this uphill battle
With one’s thoughts and judments
With one’s happiness and one’s fears
Along the way, you lose pieces of yourself
And then suddenly, all of you
You had no idea this would happen
You looked at what you caused and done
You feel hopeless as if there’s no going back
And there it sat, the Chamomile Tea packet
On the countertop, freshly brewed
You look at the drink with admiration for its glisten
For it’s ability to have meaning and importance with
No label saying it’s effects
A dried up flower needs to be watered to grow again
You are that flower, you are that tea
