Charioteers’ Chariots

Behold the host drawing near
bruising a blush the grass can't bear
awaking the slumbering noise
enroute the conquering cause

The frontier fears an heartbreak
sensing the imminent groundbreak
edges of swords transversing bloodstream
to its eruption like a rushing stream

Festival of blood at its peak
vulture dissecting flesh with its beak
swarm of flies in elated gyration
breeding infantry of maggots on a mission.

It's an eyesore begetting vomit
stinking corpses whisk to the pit
mother, wife, children mourning the man
whose home he'll no longer man.
