Cherry Blossom

A flower bud
covered in jewels of dew.
Swaying in the wind.
The sun rises,
it's light gently kissing
the surface of the petals of the folded bud.
The gentle heat of the sun evaporates the sparkling gems of dew.

A rosy petal begins to unfurl
one goes out
then another
and an other
the last petal unfurls.

A sharp ax blade digs into the trunk,
each strike makes the tree ooze with sap
a last strike
the tree falls to the ground
the cherry blossoms petals fall
one by one
the final petal falls,
the blossom is dead.
