Childhood Friend

Dear childhood friend,
You had issues, more than I could understand.
Dear childhood friend I want you to know,
I care for you more than you could understand.

Dear childhood friend,
Do you remember how we used to roll?
Going down to the creek and watching the flow.
I miss the days when we would go,
Go ahead and watch the flow.

You lived above, I lived below.
I guess that's how the story goes.
But now you're grown, and have nothing to show,
I guess I should have known.

From the start to the end, you were a mess.
It hurts to say I wish you were another way,
I love you the same.
In every way, through thick and thin.
You drive me insane, with your clingy laugh and your lovely smile,
Dear childhood friend, oh how I yearn those childhood days.
