Children of the Night
Hidden beneath the covers of safety,
lays a child that eludes from danger,
taking a stand is far too crazy,
or you'll only cause him anger.
Every morning the nightmare begins,
what has angered him once again,
the back of his hand has left it's sting,
he says we are to blame for it every now and then.
We will not forget those vulgar remarks,
for they haunt us day by day,
for he has no regards,
one day his mistakes will make him pay.
How many of us must he hurt,
before he can rest.
The smell of cowardliness lingers in his breath,
while his demons hide the truth,
he has fallen for their kiss of death,
exposing evil to the purest of youth.
The demons watch us from time to time,
planning their next attack,
we struggle to reject their regime,
meanwhile he picks up a bottle of Jack.
The world may have forgotten us,
the children of the night,
our safety comes only at dusk,
one day we'll see the light.
