chipped


i was green
blue with a yellow coating
you picked at every fracture
chipping away layer by layer
intrigued by such a mixture

you-
well, you were lilac
a single layer,
flat
a ripple of calm,
in my ocean of fear

i-
i crumbled under your voice
and stripped away,
drifting to the floor
my cells were swept up with the wind,
and they swirled,
into the emerald you made me out to be
