If the days had never changed
and we had met back in the time,
of segregation and discrimination,
what would have come of our lives?
My eyes still would have glistened,
and my stomach would still have flipped.
My mouth would make a common word
sound foreign from my lips.
You would still see in me, and
see a greater man. Than what
was made of us, in a time we "ruled the land" .
