My dog, the thing that I love best,
Is one of the Wild Warriors of the West.
He fought for Texas with Davy Crockett,
In his hand he held his mighty hatchet.
He used it to defend the Alamo,
On that fateful day in San Antonio.
With it he tried hard to defend,
And when no hope was left, he left with a friend.
After his Texas victory,
He came back home to Grove City.
And when he came home, right there on the spot,
I renamed him a simple name, Chocolate.
A simple name, not Simon the III,
A simple name for a brave dog, how absurd!
But through all my days I shall never forget,
His bravery, his kindness, and my love for Chocolate.
