Choices

My choices were you or him.
It came easy;
I picked you.
I'd always pick you.
You made it hard.
Wanted me but couldn't let go.
The past haunted you.
You were terrified but wouldn't say so.
I did what I could to make it better,
And you turned me down.
Didn't believe me when I said,
"It's just you, I promise."
He was my rebound.
You were the treasure I was looking for.
Your choices were me or her.
It was easy;
You picked her.
Just like you always would.
